Penthouse (2020)

This could be one of the most dramatic K-drama series of 2020, thanks to its creator, Kim Soon Ok, who also wrote the screenplay for Temptation of Wife.

The Hera Palace is a magnificent penthouse apartment with over 100 storeys that houses residents with dark secrets and hidden ambitions. Shim Su-Ryeon is known as the Penthouse Queen, whereas Seo Jin is recognized as the famous and cutthroat opera singer, and Seo Jin’s opponent is Oh Yoon-Hee.

Essentially, it’s a show about a battle for wealth, power, and prestige at Seoul’s most coveted penthouse that will inspire you to fight for justice.

Itaewon Class (2020)

You can’t go wrong with a Park Seo Joon drama, right? Many people adored this critically acclaimed series, and with good reason. Park Sae-ro-yi, an ex-convict whose father was murdered in an accident, tries to put his life back together by working hard to convert his bar into a franchise and take over a food firm whose CEO is tied to his father’s death.

Itaewon Class is, at its core, about vengeance, finding family among the people around you, and fighting against greed, power, prejudice, and social class disparity. This is a very inspirational show that will catch you in no time.

Birthcare Center (2020)

For some, the prospect of becoming a mother can be intimidating. The latest Birthcare Center series focuses on the ups and downs of motherhood, including conceiving a child, going through labor, and anything else you can think of concerning a woman’s journey into motherhood.

The drama stars Uhm Ji Won as Hyun Jin as she adjusts to life as a new mother, with a story that celebrates a woman’s efforts in caring for and rearing a child. She is the oldest mom at the postpartum center where she is staying, despite being the youngest CEO at her company. While there, she meets other women and begins her journey into parenting, including Park Ha-sun, who plays Jo Eun-Jung, a mother of three who has it all, including beauty, childcare abilities, and her husband’s devotion.

Record of Youth (2020)

If there’s one thing we’re confident of, it’s that this series is a coming-of-age drama aimed at those who are at a career crossroads. Even if you aren’t, you’re likely to reflect on the challenges you faced early in your career.

The drama begins with Sa Hye Joon, a smart and attractive model who intends to pursue a career as an actor. Despite auditioning for a variety of roles, he hasn’t had much success and lacks stage presence. Ahn Jung Ha, a cosmetics artist who is bright and joyful on the surface but lonely on the inside, is also featured in the episode. She’s been known to use fangirling over her idols as a way to express her frustrations.

The King: Eternal Monarch (2020)

This highly anticipated series, starring two fan favorite drama protagonists, launched on April 17, 2020 to excellent ratings.

The story follows a Korean emperor during the period of constitutional monarchy who crosses over into modern-day Korea and meets a detective. The emperor, portrayed by Lee Min Ho, wants to close the gap between the two worlds, while the investigator, represented by Kim Go Eun, is trying to preserve lives.

Kim Eun Sook, whose credits include the blockbuster series Secret Garden (2010), Descendants of the Sun (2016), and Mr Sunshine, is claimed to have written the drama (2018).

Crash Landing On You (2019-2020)

This highly rated romantic comedy drama is definitely up your alley if you want a nice star-crossed romance story. After a paragliding tragedy, South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin) lands in North Korean territory and falls into the arms of North Korean caption Ri Jeong-hyuk (Hyun Bin).
